Ghouls Magazine is an online magazine that dissects and discusses horror, all through the female perspective.
We are a team of badass babes who identify as women or non-binary persons, and have something to say on the gory genre. Slashing through the noise to provide insight, analysis and criticism on horror, thriller and sci-fi films, TV, books and other media.
So you want to know a little more about how Ghouls Magazine came about? In 2020 during the height of lockdown, founder Zoë Rose Smith wanted to create an inclusive space where women and non-binary persons could provide their unique viewpoint on the horror genre, and Ghouls Magazine was created.
The online horror magazine is run by a small team, with Zoë and her partner Emanuele running the day-to-day activities including website management, content management, strategy, planning, marketing and more. Supporting to keep all editorial output to the highest level is Assistant Editor, Rebecca McCallum, who also is the genius behind our monthly creative campaigns. All press enquiries and admin is looked after by Admin Assistant & Contributor, Ariel Powers-Schaub. Ensuring our tweet game is always strong is Social Media Manager & Contributor, Kim Morrison.
We are dedicated to supporting our writers, and have a team of Ghouls contributors who bring their own individual writing styles to the website. You can Meet the Team here, and if you’re interested in writing for us, then get in touch!
As we are still a small team, we personally fund Ghouls Magazine to keep it running. This means that we rely on donations and our monthly membership subscription to help us keep up with the costs of the website, accountant and digital tools. If you love what we do and would like to support us so we can continue producing fresh content and keep running, you can drop us a donation on our Ko-Fi page or you can sign-up to become a Ghouls member for just £4.99 a month. Thank you 💜
